“Thank you for celebrating our wedding with us! We are looking forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday April 8th, 2023.

While we would like to invite your children, due to space limitations, we are having an adults only wedding. The only children attending are from our extended families. We hope you understand and enjoy a night off!

Read on for helpful information regarding the wedding ceremony, reception, dance floor requests and gifts. Please feel free to get in touch with either of us if you have any questions.

Wedding Ceremony 2pm

St George’s Gate Pa Anglican Church
1 Church Street, Gate Pa, Tauranga

St George's sits on the historic battle site of Pukehinahina/Gate Pā, which was fought on 29 April 1864. The church promotes awareness of and korero about this history and seeks to uphold the principles of justice and social equality in our community. Above the church door the words are written “All who enter here be reconciled”. There will be time to explore the adjoining Gate Pa Memorial Reserve after the wedding ceremony if that interests you.

The vicar, Rev John Hebenton, was Kathryn’s supervisor for five years in her formation as a spiritual director. Gareth’s mum, Marie Cass, attended dances at the St George’s hall when she was a teenager!

Parking at St George’s
The small carpark adjoining the church will be reserved for the bridal party. You can park along Church Street and in the Gate Pa Domain car-park, opposite the church, across Cameron Road.

Wedding Reception 4pm

The Orchard Wedding Garden
2 Kennedy Road, Pyes Pa, Tauranga

Our friends, Jeff and Shelley Foster, have generously provided the use of their wedding venue for our reception, even though The Orchard closed to the public in 2022. While there are sheltered areas, the main area is open-air so please bring warm layers!

Parking Instructions
There is ample parking provided at The Orchard Wedding Garden. Please turn right onto Kennedy Road off Pyes Pa Road and follow the parking signs onto the property.

Vibe
You can make your way to the reception anytime from 3.45pm onwards. The bridal party will be off having photos but the complementary bar will be open and grazing platters awaiting your arrival! Our reception style is mix and mingle, so please relax and enjoy yourselves as food is brought to you and our Masters of Ceremonies, Gareth’s brother's, Paddy and George guide us through the reception formalities and eventually onto the dance floor!

Send us your dance-floor song! Help us create our dance-floor playlist by sending us a song or two you love to groove to. We’ll enjoy having a dance playlist that showcases a range of musical styles and generations! Email Kathryn
